Job Purpose - The Head of Treasury & Investments has the overall responsibility on matters relating to the treasury and investment functions of the Bank. He is responsible for maintaining the treasury & investment operations and ensuring that adequate controls are in place for all related activities. The Head of Treasury & Investments is also responsible for maintaining and monitoring the Bank's positions and to ensure that proper coordination is made with all necessary Departments within the Bank, in particular the Corporate & Commercial Banking areas, to assist in customer service as well as the execution of necessary treasury and investment transactions as required. Relationship Management and Business Development are also his key responsibilities.
Main Duties
- Develops a Policy & Procedure Manual for Treasury & Investments Operations with adequate controls- Oversees the operations in the dealing room and responsible for all operations within the Division- Reviews and manages the Bank's liquidity position.- Responsible for the profitability of the unit and for the income generated through Trading, Fee, Dividend, Foreign Exchange and will be responsible for the Return on Investment on the Unit- Liaises with the CEO in respect to investments of surplus funds in treasury bills, short-term deposits, etc.- Reviews the status of all outstanding foreign exchange deals and the Bank's exchange position and ensures that the entire Bank's net open position is within the limits set by the Bank and Qatar Central Bank.- Responsible for interest rate management, including authorization to other divisions and branches of deposit and foreign exchange rates.- Responsible for implementing measures for enhancing the processes relating to Client Profitability Tracking, FX Trading Systems, post-acquisition monitoring.- Responsible for Cross selling of Bank Products- Responsible for maintaining a profitable Proprietary Book size
