Summary:
We currently have a vacancy for an outstanding web designer to be responsible for designing innovative, reusable Web-based materials for our E-Commerce business and progressive online activism. The web designer will work closely with our E-Commerce Senior Manager, strategists and developer team members to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies. Strong graphic design base, mild programming and database administration skills are all elements of this position.
Responsibilities:
•Work closely with Project Manager and other members of the Development Team to both develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
•Produce project estimates such as total number of design hours required, level of project relevance etc.
•Attend meetings during development stage for updates in order to make sure the project is compliant with requirements.
•Work with Developers to build and refine graphic designs for web pages in order to fit the Development specification. Should have strong skills in Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent application(s).
•Convert raw images and layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/XHTML themes.
•Determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations.
•Communicate to the Project Manager with efficiency and accuracy any progress and/or delays. Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value deliverables.
•Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.
•Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.
•Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks.
•Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
