Key Responsibilities



• Define and execute a vision and strategy for the latest technology infrastructure solutions needed at DI.

• Convert vision and strategy into an executable plan and roadmap.

• Ensure that the selected solutions are aligned with target architecture and supports scalability, extensibility, and reliability requirements of DI, and meet the needs of the various application solutions designed to run over this infrastructure.

• Ensure scalability, robustness, reliability and resilience of DI’s datacenter, network and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with other departments within the IT organization to implement services, policies, processes, and procedures aimed at increasing the satisfaction of various stakeholders, e.g. students, faculty, staff and alumni.

• Operate and retain a professional Service Desk as single point of contact for all requests, incidents, and management of Operation Level Agreements (OLA).

• Responsible for developing, documenting, communicating and enforcing a technology standards policy.

• Responsible for conducting research on emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts, developing, documenting, making recommendations, and communicating plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.

• Responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

• Ensure that all implemented solutions adhere to the latest IT security standards and recommendations.

• Assist in establishing operations standards applied across IT teams.

• Responsible for developing and executing test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance, reporting findings, and making recommendations for improvement.

• Responsible for developing and delivering training to relevant members of DI in all aspects of infrastructure services.

• Responsible for providing tier 2 support for all aspects of infrastructure services.

• Participate in and contribute to build/buy/partner decisions especially for IT services and helpdesk.

• Manage vendor relationships with service providers to whom DI has outsourced services.

• Build and lead a team of skilled professionals with appropriate skills to accomplish the activities listed above.
