Key Job Duties

Strategic:

• Develop of risk management framework aimed at identification and minimization of all level and aspects of risk for the company.

• Oversee the development and implementation of risk management systems, policies and procedures in order to ensure early risk identification.

• Develop or implement risk- assessment models or methodologies and possible risk response tools and techniques.

• Assist to implement QDB risk appetite articulation framework

Operational:

• Assist in supervising implementation of risk response actions as well as provides professional advice and support on their implementation process

• Develop and promote adoption of business continuity programs in order to address event based risks thus ensuring achievement of critical objectives

• Initiate, facilitate and advice managers in developing risk management programs within their own functions.

• Coordinate the process of monitoring staff adherence to risk management policies and procedures to ensure due diligence and safety in operations

• Promote a culture of risk awareness through communication and training programs, risk based performance measurement and any other relevant programs in order to ensure that employees are aware of potential risk and their consequences.

• Ensure communication of key risks, maintain input or data quality of risk management systems

• Recommend effective ways to control or reduce risk and maintain records of the effectiveness of such risk responses.

• Perform any other work related duties assigned by the Legal Director.

• Conduct Risk Control Self-Assessment (RSCA) framework and internal control assessment process

• Identify KRI’s with thresholds for the various units within Elan Qatar.

• If possible review credit issues pertaining to collection of receivables.

People:

• Ensure compliance with the performance management process and its linkages to learning and development, compensation, promotion, career development and succession planning. This is done in full collaboration with the HR function

• Contribute to the people development initiatives within the department.


Education and Competencies:

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline

• Post graduate degree such ad MSc, MBA or PGD in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage

• Professional Certification from relevant institutions will be an added advantage

Experience:

• Minimum graduate degree in media, finance, business administration or risk management

• At least five year experience in audit or risk management of any media related organization or business risk services / Internal audit of big consulting companies ( BIG 4 preferred)

• Certifications like CIA, CCSA, CISA, CFA a plus.
