Job SummaryThe Head, Risk Management acts as the Chief Risk Officer of the Bank and oversees all activities related to Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Financial Risk and Organisation & Methods functions. He is also responsible for maintaining relationships with Qatar Central Bank, Rating Agencies and External Auditors and ensure that all reporting requirements are complied with.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the day to day functioning of the departments as mentioned above.Monitoring and evaluation of Risk in all areas of the Bank including enterprisewide risk and market risk, and issues caution signals to the Management whenever neccesary.
Review of Policy & Procedures in all risk areas and recommends strengthening of controls to keep in line with industry level practice.Monitors and recommends strategies for debt recovery, non-performing assets and graded accounts.
Reviews risk factors in new product launches and product pricing and makes recommendations whenever necessary.Ensures all business Units have a business continuity plan and disaster recovery plans and ensures that they are adequate to meet any eventuality.
Educational Qualifications and Experience Required
* MBA/CPA/ ACIB or a degree in Finance/Accounting.
* Minimum 15 - 20 years experience in handling Risk Management in bank/financial institution, out of which at least 5 years in the Executive Management cadre.
* Should posses strong creative, analytical, communication and motivational skills.
