SUMMARY
To oversee the day to day operations of a restaurant. Work together with other managers and owners in the planning, directing and coordinating of restaurant operations. To oversee all other managers and report to the Managing Director. To deal directly with customers and employees and be responsible for a diversity of duties that includes financial record keeping and handling employees.
Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include managing daily operations, and organizing the use of materials and employee resources.
Responsible for generally managing the facility.
Must ensure that all materials used in food preparation and serving are working properly.
Order new refrigerators, cookers or blenders or order repair services.
Play an active role in marketing the restaurant and devising promotional programs.
To interact with customers and vendors and ensure that their needs are met in a timely and satisfactory manner. They are responsible for managing inventory and keeping financial records of purchases and sales and work with the human resources department to train, develop, hire, retain and fire employees.
Work Environment:
Provide a work environment that engenders positive energy, creativity and teamwork among employees. To ensure that this goal is achieved, try to reach compromises with employees by conducting meetings, listening to each department's issues and concerns, and setting a professional example by showing leadership qualities.
Institute Rules:
In order for a department to run smoothly, has to set rules and procedures for employees to follow. This includes setting policies in the workplace to ensure effective implementation and adherence among each and every employee in the organization.
Manages Budget:
Handles a company’s operating budget to determine how much the company has spent and what it can purchase in the near future. It is all about serving customers; therefore the individual needs to know how much money is in a company's budget to provide the products and services that will retain customers.
Representative:
Also represent at committee meetings and functions. The manager will be a spokesperson for the company and discuss the various objectives and plans the organization has in store to make its business more successful.
Decision-Maker:
Handle issues as a top priority. Many issues facing include risk management, shipment delays, clients’ dissatisfaction and employee problems. To make effective decisions that will not only help the company run smoothly but that also serves to prevent difficult situations in the future.
Recruiter/Supervisor:
Responsible for hiring employees inside an organization, as well as supervising and evaluating employees and their job performance. In addition to being a recruiter, give directions to employees on certain job tasks, resolve problems concerning employees’ work performance, establish rules and procedures and create work schedules.
