Manager E-Commerce Sales



The manager of E-Commerce sales is responsible for managing and directing the organisation in reaching the set E-Commerce sales and transactional target, this is achieved through the management of a DOH based online sales team supporting the network as well as a team of E-Commerce Managers (dotted reporting line) based in the field.



The overall objective of this role is to increase the direct-sales channel share and self-servicing penetration.



The role plays a key part in lowering overall cost-of-sales for the airline and generation incremental non-air revenues by managing ancillary sales via the online channel, in addition the role also manages tools such as search engine marketing, direct e-mail campaigns, affiliates and meta-search.



ACCOUNTABILITIES:



Strategy Formulation:



Develop the overall E-commerce sales strategy, Maximising qatarairways.com for revenue generation of the airline, Increase self-servicing share to reduce cost-of-sales and servicing. Establish qatarairways.com as the preferred point-of-contact for all customers with the aim to improve customer service while at the same time minimising overheads in call centres and reservation offices. Ensure the airline E-commerce strategy is aligned with general airline industry and E-commerce trends, Identify new sales revenue opportunities, whilst ensuring the cost-of-sales is lower than traditional channels. Establish the ancillary revenue strategy to grow non-air revenue generation via E-channels, Build & execute the airline's search engine marketing strategy, Build & execute the airline's affiliate marketing strategy, Build & execute the airline's meta-search distribution strategy.



Management:



Establish the E-sales teams objectives and align Regional Direct Sales Manager's objectives in line with overall E-commerce Strategy, Establish sales processes to ensure best practices are shared throughout the organisation globally, Management of the overall online sales activity plan and ensure sales plans are is executed in set timelines, Steer the Regional Direct Sales Managers to ensure global sales plans are regionalised and operationalised on a regional and country basis.



Ensure sharing of best practices between countries and regions, Dotted line responsibility over the Regional Direct Sales Managers, Plan, manage and implement rollout of online sales promotions globally and on a pan-regional basis, Work with Revenue Management and network Sales departments to embed the online sales channel in our fare, sales and distribution processes, Management of sales and co-marketing partnerships globally and pan-regionally with credit card companies, banks and other global sales partners. Build partnerships with non-air product providers such as travel insurance, car rental and hotel companies, to grow the non-air, ancillary revenues, ensure best practice sharing between head office and regional offices.



Leaderships:



Managing the online sales team in DOH HQ, Jointly lead the Regional Direct Sales/E-commerce Mangers to ensure HQ and regional activities are aligned and implemented in set timelines.



About You:



To be successful in this role you will need to have a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in depth understanding of the airline industry and the specific sales, marketing and distribution mechanisms.



Solid knowledge of core airline systems and it's applications at least to the depth of a Business Analyst level, Knowledgeable about online sales and marketing technologies and latest industry trends across online retail and online travel in particular.



You will have a minimum of 7 years Job related experience, at least 5 years work experience in an airline or travel and hospitality industry environment, Prior experience working in a head office of a multi-national company is advantage, Experience working in a field sales or marketing position required, Must have experience working and prior exp
