Our client, Dubai based investment Organization is seeking to recruit a Grade Leader Reports • Reports to the Head of Primary School. • Manages all staff working within the specified Grade (each of Grades 1 - 6 inclusive). Key Leadership Roles • Build a strong team and be a positive influence to others • Be a lead learner; model good practice, provide cover so staff can model good practice • Team teach to support teaching and learning within the classroom • Be involved in the natural development of the staff observation process, providing staff with mentoring and support in target setting and professional development • Lead issues on the School Development Plan and subsequent professional development of staff • Keep up-to-date with educational developments and bring ideas to the table for discussion in SMT meetings • Mentoring/coaching staff • Support Head of Primary School in the improvement of teaching and learning, and the development of subjects • Be involved in the development of tracking pupil progress and the implementation of continuous assessment • Develop TAs • Improve and develop school/home communication • Raise pupil achievement Key Management Tasks • Be the ‘face’ of the year group - availability to meet parents, staff and students when the need arises, resolve complaints, lead open/information evenings • Deal with parents of students who are ‘cause for concern’ and make decisions that best meets the needs of the student • Freely visit every class each day to support staff with discipline, motivation, student rewards etc • Support new staff throughout the year • Develop assemblies • Develop strong transitional links between different sections of the school • All paper work involved in the smooth running of your year group should be up to date, office tidy and organised and shared areas appropriate to the needs of the students in your care • Manage behaviour effectively in line with the Behaviour Policy • Check End of Term and End of Year Reports and write SMT comments • To manage, with the School Registrar, the Lower School admissions process • Contribute to school newsletters and Year Book Pastoral Roles • Champion the care and wellbeing of students within this Grade, including taking the lead in resolving all issues, disputes and problems referred upwards from the class tutor. Seek assistance and guidance from the Head Teacher as required. • Manage • Ensure a high quality of staff welfare across their section of the school Members of the SMT will also be leading initiatives from the School Development Plan.
