•To estimate the amount and type of material required to deliver the contracted specifications.
•To estimate the cost of equipment and plant.
•To work with planning engineers and site managers and help predict the duration of the project and the cost involved.
•To calculate a final figure of the cost that will have to be incurred.
•To work on CAD applications for determining the final project statistics.
•To read and understand blueprints and discuss them with the site manager and the client.
