• Independently prepares design calculations or reports.
• Verifies that applicable codes and engineering standards and practices are being met.
• Resolves issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/ or difficult coordination requirements.
• Conducts peer reviews and make technical presentations.
• Performs constructability reviews of designs.
• Prepares cost analyses of structural portion of project.
• Conducts value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials and building techniques.
• Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments and managing projects that are large in scope and complex.
• Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering for a larger scope project.
• Regularly makes decisions on the direction of the design; highlighting structural problems created by Architectural and/or other Engineering Discipline's designs, in order that alternatives can be incorporated into the overall project design.
• Reviews other professional's designs, understands their objectives, and evaluates the impact on the structural design.
