Under the supervision of coordinator, dentistry consultant and in collaboration with relevant units, the incumbent will perform the following functions:
1. As a dentistry associate you will typically be examining the dental and oral hygiene of patients, and either offering advice, or carrying out surgeries.
2. Operating technical equipment such as X-ray machines, keeping accurate records of patients’ dental structure (which may need to be used to identify individuals), working with a medical nurse and a medical receptionist.
3. Support the development and implementation of the Regional Action Plan for the Development of oral health and the Regional Framework for Advanced clinical dentistry and oral medicine.
4. Assist in the further implementation and utilization of very cost-effective interventions and the preparation of progress reports and the development of guidance documents, publications, communication and advocacy materials.
5. Participates in the department/division administrative meetings, educational meetings, The hospital/department committees and research activities.
