A large local bank in Bahrain is looking to hire a Head of Treasury & Investments who will be responsible to formulate business plans related to this area and implement objectives established for the division within the approved Strategic plan for the bank.

The Head of Treasury & Investments will have the following responsibilities:
- Successfully manage and grow business in 1) Treasury and 2) Capital Markets & Investments.- Achieve financial objectives set in the annual budget ensuring continuous diversification of earnings. This will be achieved through managing the mix of business and credit risk activities with affiliates and merchant banks, correspondent banks, multinational and institutional entities and fund managers.- Develop incremental range of products and services for the group in order to enhance the earnings stream and institute comprehensive marketing programs to increase clients business.- As a member of the Bank's assets and liability committee, be responsible for the Bank's assets and liability management, namely strategy formulation, execution and profitability within liquidity guidelines and regulatory framework.- Be responsible to manage the Bank's risk on areas of Treasury & Capital Markets activities. Work to lead a team to manage the risk associated with market, credit, liquidity, event and other risks.- Job includes risk assessment, risk evaluation and policy relating to risk pertaining to the Division. - Responsible for the Bank's asset and liability mis-match and gaping management including strategy formulation, execution and profitability within liquidity guidelines and regulatory framework.- Take adequate measures to ensure the Bank's liquidity by planning and implementing appropriate funding plans for ideal asset classes to enhance yield.- Prepare hedging strategies to enable the Bank to hedge its interest rate risk at any time should market conditions warrant.- Expand number and quality of treasury products and services that appeal to a broader segment of the market whilst supporting the Bank's other business units and customer's requirements efficiently- Establish product and instrument operating relationships with professional counterparties to enable the portfolio to be adequately invested and hedged safely.- Recruit and train portfolio managers and security traders in the field to permit optimum support to the division.- Develop products and services to enable funds to be marketed to widen the client base- Be responsible for the Bank's overall foreign exchange activities and exposures (trading and customer services).- Develop and introduce new products and services such as FX Options, Margin Trading and Advisory and the marketing thereof. Take measures to ensure the Bank's liquidity in the FX markets through contacts and marketing of NBB accordingly.- Undertake strategic investments for the bank using currency funding and hedging techniques in support of the business plan.- Ensure Bank's safely against undesired FX fluctuation and risks- Be responsible to market and sell Treasury & Capital Markets products, including formulation of business plan to enhance Bank's position and increase market share.- Responsible to introduce, develop and sell new Treasury and Funds products and introduce investment advisory services.
