Progrss.com is hiring a data analysts with a passion for presenting information and stories through data, its interpretation and its visualization.
Dedicated to decoding and mainstreaming essential knowledge about urbanization, city development and the processes and innovations necessary to create a liveable future for the global population (70% of which will be residing in cities by 2050), progrss.com is a state-of-the-art digital platform that publishes original content daily with a focus on utilizing big data and a range of facts and figures to instigate action and innovation.
Working hand-in-hand with the editorial team, the ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing and mining relevant data and the know-how to identify indicators and create benchmarks from masses of data. You will also excel at the collection, interpretation, analysis and visualization of data and statistics with at least two years of professional experience or an educational background in working with data via SQL and/or MS Access.
Importantly, you need a passion for finding the stories the data holds by noticing trends, gaps and anomalies and conducting the relevant research to support your conclusions.
Main responsibilities:
• Collecting, mining and organizing big data;
• Conducting daily data correlation, comparisons and DML to generate stories, theories and solutions;
• Defining and monitoring relevant indicators and metrics;
• Basic visualization of data for online audience;
• Working closely with team of journalist and editors to put data and its interpretation into editorial formats;
• Be heavily involved in weekly and monthly editorial meetings to determine and schedule upcoming content and identify trending topics, based on data;
• Build automated functions to facilitate accessible and understandable basic manipulation for colleagues.
