Role Purpose
To lead and manage the Property (Fire & Terrorism) portfolio of ACE Group in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA):
(a) setting short and long term business strategy, direction and goals in line with ACE Group corporate strategy,
(b) ensuring that ACE Group underwriting and operational standards are met, and;
(c) ensuring planned results are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
1.Business Goals
Ensure that Property results meet or exceed planned growth rates and underwriting profit, as set out in the Business Plan, through the achievement of budgeted income, loss ratios, pricing and expense management targets.
Identify and implement product development and other market opportunities that are accretive to ACE’s results in MENA.
Ensure that underwriting results are acceptable through the implementation of Underwriting Best Practices and active Portfolio management, in addition to individual case underwriting.
2.Leadership Responsibilities
Operational leadership for [Product Line] in the country / region.
Ensure the appropriate level of resources and skills are in place to achieve business goals.
Close involvement in career development, learning and development and performance management of staff.
3.Business Relationships
Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and distribution strategies and plans for [Product Line].
Maintain and enhance relationships with cedants, brokers, business partners and major clients.
4.Regulatory Procedures and Responsibilities
Ensure all functions are conducted by appropriately skilled and experienced staff.
Allocate sufficient resources and oversee the establishment and maintenance of appropriate systems and controls. Ensure local governance standards are met.
5.Financial Responsibilities
Oversee progress towards financial objectives and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken when required to achieve targets. Present plans, progress and results to management on regular basis.
