1. Responsible for facultative underwriting and overseeing accounts according to the underwriting standards of the company.
2. Underwrites facultative business in accordance with the company's guidelines and philosophy and within the limits authorized by the Senior Facultative Underwriter.
3. Applying reinsurance knowledge in order to assess potential exposure to the company and to underwrite all classes of short-term Facultative Reinsurance business.
4. Evaluates submissions, assesses and rates risks and performs all necessary underwriting functions in order to accept or decline risks and offers alternative terms and conditions on risks, which are presented at unacceptable terms to the company.
5. Provide a point of contact in the absence of the Senior Facultative Underwriter.
6. Ensure that information entered on systems by subordinates is correct.
7. Peer review function within the underwriting unit.
8. Report and handle all claims notifications and reported claims to the Senior Facultative Underwriter. Immediately and provide a point of contact for the adjusting of claims.
9. Liaise with other company’s offices worldwide to ensure efficient servicing of internal clients.
10. Assesses and approves risk changes on existing accounts and assesses claims activity.
11. Ensures that fast and efficient service is provided to our clients by the department.
12. Cooperate closely with marketing and accounting.
13. Controls and issues facultative closings, binders, quotations, cover notes, endorsements and renewals.
14. Other duties as deemed necessary.
