Job Purpose:
Under the general guidance of the Government Relations Manager and Director of Human
Resources, support, administer and coordinate for all work necessary with the local authorities to ensure all employees have correct visas and permits necessary to live and work legally in the Qatar. The job entails the immigration work of all employees of different nationalities working in the hotel, and management and implementation various licenses required for the Hotel operation. To administer/coordinate the Immigration process for all employees, ensuring an efficient and speedy process to expedite staff into Qatar. To support the day to day administration of a busy HR department in Doha, ensuring a timely, accurate, efficient and proactive service is provided whilst offering some HR support and advice to all staff.
Duties & Functions:
1. Labour/Immigration:
• Applies to the Labour and Immigration Departments for all employment, visit and extension of the mentioned visas required by the hotel.
• Deposits and collects visas in such a manner so as not disrupt the efficient operation of the hotel.
• Meet new arrivals at the airport with HR and GM, and ensure their speedy transit through the immigration facilities.
• Arranges medical tests required for residence permit and food handler’s certificates.
• Assist in issuing of medical cards for the staff.
2. Residence Permits:
• Deposits and collect permits in such manner so as not to disrupt the efficient operation of the hotel.
3. Cancellation:
• Goes personally with the departing employees to the Ministry of Labour for cancellation procedures, and exit visa requirements in advance.
4. Other Government work:
• Performs/Carries out all other aspects of Government Affairs work, to include but not be limited to applications for driving license, airport passes and their renewals and relevant Hotel licenses, and any other work requested by the Government Relations Manager/Director of Human Resources.
