Managing a team of Engineers to ensure the Plant and machinery is safely maintained to a high standard and breakdowns and repairs are handled efficiently.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Maintain plant equipment to a high standard of safety and complete all applicable safety documentation and work in line with all company safety policies and procedures;
* Ensure the Engineering Team complete the PPM checks to a high standard;
* Manager a team of Engineers and Assistant Engineers in line with the best practice including training and development and performance management;
* Work in collaboration with the Production Team to allow adequate time for PPM on all machinery;
* Assist in machinery processes to give best results on energy and water consumption;
* Responsible for ensuring waste produced from engineering area is disposed of as per company policy;
* Ensure correct engineering shift coverage is maintained through effective rota planning and publishing and holiday management;
* Ensure adequate supplies of critical parts are sourced, purchased and maintained in the most cost effective manner;
* Assist General Manager in producing operational budget;
* Maintain up-to-date industry technology knowledge;
* Foster good working relations with other department and sites to ensure communication is maintained;
* Overall responsibility for cleanliness and tidiness of areas as allocated by General Manager;
* Ensure collation and submission of the necessary information as required;
* Provide and arrange out-of-hours cover and support for management team;
* Attend meetings and training initiatives at other locations as required;
