NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

The school director serves as the educational leader, responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the policies, regulations, procedures, and budgets to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school. The school director must work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of the school staff and to communicate effectively with parents.





JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES





1. General Planning: conceptualize the broad goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total school program.



2. Future Planning: sets clear plan for the development of the new school.



3. Coaching: coaches and guides the new school.



4. Setting Budget: prepares the annual school budget and a record of projected revenue and expenditure



5. General Coordination: ensures that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school system.



6. Enhancement of personnel skills: provides activities which facilitate the professional growth of the school staff and enhance the quality of the instructional program.



7. School Objectives: identifies the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the school.



8. Curriculum Objectives: ensures that instructional objectives of a given subject and/ or classroom are developed, and involves the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program. The director provides opportunities for staff participation in the school program.



9. Establishes Formal work Relationships: evaluates student progress in the instructional program by means that include the maintaining of up-to-date student data.



10. Facilities organizational efficiency: maintains inter school system communication and ensures positive cooperative and mutually supportive relationship with students staffs and parents



11. Supplies and equipment: manages directs and maintains records on the materials, supplies and equipment which are necessary to carry out the daily school routine. The director involves the staff in determining priorities for instructional purposes



12. Promotes High Standard: Establish and promote high standard and expectation for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.



13. Safety: Ensures a safe orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students. File all required reports regarding violence, vandalism, attendance and discipline matters.



14. Communication: Communication regularly with parents, seeking their support and advice to create a cooperative relationships to support the student in the school. Communicate with the board regularly about the needs successes and general operation of the school.



15. Maintaining Records: Complete in a timely fashion all records and reports as requested by the Board. Maintains accurate attendance records\



16. Confidentiality: Protects confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties
