We are recruiting for a Solution Architect to provide solutions for our Advanced Infrastructure line of business. Our Advanced Infrastructure line of business covers: Communication cabling, Data Centre Infrastructure, Wireless Connectivity and Integrated Security. We are specifically looking for someone for the Data Centre Infrastructure. So we are looking for a strong candidate for this position. I’ve attached the general outline of the position however below are some of the key skills and experience we are looking for in someone for this role:
ü Some 3-5 years’ experience in Data Centre Infrastructure solution offering
ü Electrical/Mechanical diploma
ü Understanding of Electrical and Mechanical Infrastructure is required
ü Middle East Experience is preferred.
ü Certifications from reputed institutions/ vendors in the Data Centre Infrastructure field
ü Sound knowledge of DCI products such as UPS, Cooling units, Chillers, Batteries, DCIM etc.
ü Ideal candidate should be fluent in both English and Arabic.
The position requires the individual to provide data centre infrastructure design and consultancy services to our clients. The individual is require to work closely with the sales team, solutions and services teams, our technology vendors and business partners to provide comprehensive data centre infrastructure proposals comprising of detailed BOQ’s, scope of work, commercial offering and technical specifications.
Main Duties / Key Accountabilities
• Design data centre infrastructure solutions including mechanical, electrical, fire suppression and detection, security, monitoring and management systems
• Submit pricing and designs for tenders, RFP’s, RFQ’s and RFI’s
• Presentation of proposals and tenders together with the Client Managers
• Prepare audit documentation and advise clients on best practices used in today’s data centres
• Build and expand on relationships with vendors
• Work with consultants in the market
• Conduct internal/external training sessions
• Understand latest market trends focusing on precision cooling and power management
• Grow the data centre infrastructure solution revenue year on year
• Introduce new initiatives for Data Centre Infrastructure designs and solutions
• Develop costing model for data centre solutions
• Standardise solution documentation
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to the services team during project implementation phases
Requirements: Education, Training and Experience
• Electrical or Mechanical Engineer Degree or Diploma
• Minimum 5 years data centre infrastructure experience
• Minimum 5 years mechanical and electrical designing experience
• Uptime Institute or Industry Recognised Equivalent Certification
• AutoCad will be advantageous
• APC product knowledge advantageous
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong negotiation skills
