City Manager Role Description
City Managers are ultimately responsible for the Remote Year experience in their cities. They serve as the face of the program for all groups that come to the city, help with programs and activities for the groups, and facilitate logistics.
Responsibilities include:
1. Be the face of Remote Year in your city
- Spend most days in the coworking space with the group
- Help Remotes find and plan fun things to do in the city
2. Design and execute local programming
- Suggest great local programs / events for the group (welcome event, local immersion events, networking events, farewell event)
- Help plan and execute these programs / events
3. Organize and manage logistics for the group locally (prearrival)
- Prepare “city preview” content for new groups coming to your city
- Check and prepare accommodations (clean, WiFi, welcome gifts)
- Purchase SIM cards for the group
- Organize transportation from airport to accommodations and coordinate checkin to accommodations
4. Support the group throughout:be on call 24/7 for support where and when needed
