The purpose of this role is to develop and implement sourcing strategies of packaging materials for Bahrain manufacturing unit, ensuring continuous supply of packaging materials and drive out cost by cost reduction / cost avoidance and also to meet the regional targets for any enterprise wide endeavors.

Description

The Buyer Packaging Materials will need to coordinate between the suppliers and replenishment team so that materials are delivered on time and in required quantities.

Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Regional Spend Area Leads to ensure sourcing strategy is in place and in line with regional and global strategies- Developing and executing procurement local strategies including risk management for packaging materials, with alignment of Spend Area Leads- Providing market intelligence for use in developing strategy and making planning assumptions- Negotiating prices, terms and procure the requested materials at the lowest business cost while meeting the client's commercial requirements- Initiating and leading activities that deliver purchasing benefits and contribute to the client's productivity and cash flow targets- Managing supplier base through identifying, qualifying and developing new suppliers in order to ensure supply and enhance competition.- Identifying high performing suppliers and build strategic partnerships where beneficial- Ensuring the business continuity plans for the critical materials through risk assessment- Managing entire procurement process for Packaging category in Bahrain; strategy execution for all the purchasing areas- Ensuring that all business transactions are compliant to local legal needs as well as to the cleint's policies.- Working with cross functional teams to ensure timely deliveries of projects and marketing promotions


Profile
- Bahraini National - University degree of business administration/science or equivalent business experience- Knowledge of Buying Strategy & Market Intelligence- Thorough understanding of procurement/replenishment/ logistics and manufacturing processes- Strong negotiation skills, thorough understanding of supplier relationship management
